Seatrans Logistics (Pty)Ltd opened it’s doors in 2007, having identified a market for the traditional clearing and forwarding agent, which , whilst incorporating all the modern electronic communication capabilities, is still able to offer a highly personal level of service.
ROB BROOKS
Rob Brooks is the Managing Director, and his experience in the logistics field goes back to 1971, when he started as a junior at a major airfreight company in Port Elizabeth. He has subsequently accumulated 40 years of experience in airfreight, seafreight, courier and warehousing , in various operational , sales and management positions. His leadership style is very much “hands-on”, and he continually keeps his finger on the pulse of the day-to day operations.
Rob was on the SA national panel of cricket umpires for fifteen years, officiating in matches up to International ODI level as TV Umpire. On the current sporting front, he enjoys a weekend round of golf with his friends.
JAMES WARWICK
James Warwick brings an untold wealth of expertise in clearing, forwarding, and ship’s agency, having been in the industry in various positions since 1968. He recently retired as Cape Town Branch Manager of a clearing and forwarding company , whose Cape Town office he and Rob opened together in 1990. He has been persuaded to delay his actual retirement indefinitely in order to join our team.
DEE ALLEN
Dee Allen is our Import Controller, and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, including customs clearance, port formalities and ultimate delivery to the client. So keen was Dee to obtain experience in the industry that she did an unofficial apprenticeship in the afternoon while still at school, and officially started in operations at a clearing and forwarding company after completing her studies in 1992. Dee has on occasion lectured at the Shipping Academy, where she is able to utilize her knowledge and experience in the training of newcomers to the industry.
BIANCA DIRKS
Bianca Dirks controls our Exports, both air and sea freight. She has ten years experience in her field, and has considerable expertise in the very specialized area of wine exports. Bianca also involves herself in other operational areas, and acts as our in-house IT specialist. Bianca is the genuine allrounder in our office.
